Melvin Rose to Speak at Cleveland Clinic Foundation Arts & Medicine Institute

Melvin Rose, 2008 Cleveland Arts Prize Lifetime Achievement Winner, has been invited to present a slide lecture entitled Daggers to Deco - Highlights of Design in Metalwork at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation Arts & Medicine Institute's Noon Lecture Series. Melvin will trace the evolution of metalwork (including Art Deco metalwork) from ancient origins to modern times, highlighting the derivation of decorative design from natural and cultural sources. Woven throughout his talk will be illustration of Rose Iron Work's place in spectrum of American decorative metalwork, the American Art Deco movement and Art Deco metalwork at Rose Iron Works.
